These pictures are of each month I am putting into the 2014 calendar we are making. My calendar is about well-known pop singers. Each month represents a singer of my choice. We made each month in Microsoft publisher. I also used Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to enhance my pictures to the given requirements for each month. For January i chose to do Justin Timberlake. I had to put a picture of him on the calendar, along with a short paragraph describing who he was. I also, had to incorporate pictures onto the grid of the calender, along with moon phases, holidays and interesting facts. The picture I put on the grid of the calendar was a picture of a microphone. February was Taylor swift. I put a picture of Taylor swift on the top portion of the calendar and a picture of a guitar on the grid of the calendar. March was Justin Bieber. I put a picture of him on both the top portion of the calendar and the bottom. April was Selena Gomez. I had to use the color replacement tool for that month. May was Eminem, which also involved the color replacement tool. June was Beyonce. July was Jason Derulo. August was Miley Cyrus. This month required to use your own artwork. I created the background of the top portion. September was Adam Levine. September also required to incorporate your own artwork. I made the background of the top portion for September also. October was Ariana Grande which involved incorporating a type on a path method, using Adobe Illustrator. November was Bruno Mars which also involved incorporating a type on a path method. Last of all, December was Rihanna.
2 Page Calendar Reflection
The project that was presented was to make a calendar. A topic was chosen to base the calendar off of and there were certain parameters to be followed. A graphic organizer was made at the beginning of the project that would be followed in order to construct the calendar. The graphic organizer included seven sheets of paper that were folded and written on to act as a calendar template. The calendar was made on Microsoft Publisher and other tools were used like Photoshop and Illustrator. The calendar grids were based off of a template that was previously created and pictures were also created and altered to put into the calendar. The calendar had to include facts, moon phases, holidays and a small writing piece in the picture. After each page of the calendar was completed, it had to be assembled using the graphic organizer. The staples were taken out of the graphic organizer, it was unfolded, but kept in the same order, and one single staple was put into the top left corner of the seven pages. The calendar had to be altered in publisher so the final product would be printed properly and ready to be folded and stapled. The final output was a twelve month calendar of the year 2014 with an extra page that was added into the calendar. The calendar topic was Pop Artists. The calendar also included a cover page and thumbnails on the back. Feedback received during this project was to use Photoshop and illustrator to alter certain pictures to put into the calendar. Photoshop was used to change pictures to incorporate into the calendar. The color replacement tool and the clone tool were used in Photoshop. Also, Photoshop was used to create artwork to incorporate into the back ground of one of the grids of the calendar. Illustrator was used to use the type on a path feature. What was learned during this project was that that there are many steps that take place in assembling a calendar. Microsoft Publisher and Photoshop were used with more of an understanding. These tools that were used in the project can be used for future computer classes. The calendar project gave a more comforting feeling of using the computer and the different tools. These tools will come in handy when college comes into play and work will constantly be done on the computer. If this project were to be done again a different topic would be chosen. A topic that was easier and less complicated would be chosen. A topic like vacation spots or great views would be chosen. Outdoor pictures are easier to change in Photoshop without making it too noticeable. The pictures that were used in the actual calendar were of people so it was more difficult to change the pictures without making it look unrealistic.
